Week 12 will be a true feast for NFL fans. A whole bunch of well-positioned teams with true playoff chances will play on Thanksgiving, as a matter of fact 5 of the 6 teams that will play on Thanksgiving day are playoff teams, two NFC top deeds among them. The only team which is not a playoff-bound one is Miami, and the Dolphins haven’t exactly been boring to watch either, considering that they won their last 3 games in a rather blowout-ish manner.
The other games of the weekend are bound to generate plenty of interest too as they feature two critical divisional battles and the football-festival is going to stretch into Monday when other interesting bouts will take place. Let’s take a closer look at the Thanksgiving games before we dig into the rake rebate :
The San Francisco 49ers v Baltimore Ravens match is a potential Super Bowl preview and that pretty much describes the game, there’s not much else to be said. The question here is whether all the traveling will finally manage to catch up with the seemingly unbeatable 49ers. The Green Bay Packers playing at Detroit will be yet another addition to the feast: Aaron Rodgers has thus far delivered a stellar performance this season to keep his team within earshot of perfection. The Lions are always a handful at home and they’re definitely legit playoff contenders.
The Chicago Bears will take on the Oakland Raiders on the road as both teams will be without their starting QBs. For the Bears, Caleb Hanie’s presence in the starting lineup can be considered a harbinger of things to come. The Buffalo Bills will play the New York Jets in a game which may easily go down and Gang Green’s last stand this season. The Jets have already gotten the better of their visitors a few weeks ago, which means this will indeed be the perfect opportunity for them to make a last stand.
